    Overview

    Austria issues two main categories:
    • Schengen Visa Type C — short stays up to 90 days in any 180 (tourism, family, short business).
    • Long-stay entry and residence — Visa D for entry (up to 6 months) and residence permits for study, work, or family. After arrival on a long-stay route, you complete local registration and collect your residence card.
