    Overview

    Norway offers two main routes:
    • Schengen Visa (Type C) — short stays up to 90 days in any 180 (tourism, family, short business).
    • Long-stay permission — a Norwegian residence permit for study, work, or family (stays over 90 days). Most long-stay cases start online, then you give biometrics at the embassy/visa center. After approval you receive a residence card (you may also receive an entry D-visa if needed).
