Overview
The German citizenship test checks your knowledge of democracy, history, rights and duties, daily life, and your federal state. It has 33 multiple-choice questions, you have 60 minutes, and you pass with at least 17 correct answers. Each paper includes 30 general questions plus 3 questions about your Bundesland. The test is usually taken at Volkshochschulen (adult education centres); the fee is €25, and BAMF (the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees) issues your result certificate
