    Overview

    Sweden offers two main routes:
    • Schengen Visa (Type C) for short stays up to 90 days in any 180 (tourism, family, short business).
    • Long-stay permission for study, work, or family, usually a Swedish residence permit. Many cases start online, then you give biometrics at the embassy/visa center. After approval you receive a residence card (an entry D-visa may be issued if needed).
